Effigy of Gork

Blitz

by Avian

Overview: In this scenario one force is attempting to push quickly through enemy held territory. The defenders are unprepared for an attack - can they stop the attackers from breaking through?

Armies: Both armies are chosen using the Warhammer Army lists to an agreed points value. The attackers should mainly consist of fast troops, but no more than 20% of the points value of the army may be spent on models that can Fly.

Battlefield: Set up the terrain in an agreed manner.

DEPLOYMENT

  1. The defenders deploys his entire army on the battlefield, at least 12" from the short table edges.
  2. Both players roll a dice, the one who scores highest may decide which short table edge the attackers arrive from. All units in the attacker's army move on from that table edge at the start of turn 1, as if they had returned after pursuing an enemy unit off the table.

Who goes first? The attacker goes first.

Length of game: The game lasts for eight turns.

Special rules: If the defender wants any of his units to do anything at all in his first turn they must first pass a Leadership test (following all the normal rules).

Victory conditions: The attacker must attempt to get his units off the board by moving them off the opposite short table edge. Add together the value of attacking units that have made it off the table by the end of turn 8. Units reduced below half Unit Strength count half their value. If the attackers can bring at least a third of their army off the table they win.
